Halcyon
A ground-up redesign of a banking app's transfer and budgeting flows, cutting the average transfer time from 40 seconds to 11.
Halcyon began as an audit of eleven years of accumulated UI debt inside a regional bank's mobile app. The transfer flow alone had six redundant confirmation steps, each added piecemeal by a different team.
I rebuilt the core interaction model around a single confirm-and-undo pattern, replacing modal-heavy confirmation chains with inline status and a five-second undo window. The visual system leans on a restrained mint accent against near-black surfaces so balances and warnings stay legible in direct sunlight — a real constraint raised by the bank's support team, who fielded complaints from outdoor merchants.
Shipped across iOS and Android to 240,000 monthly active users. Post-launch support tickets related to failed transfers dropped 34% in the first quarter.
